Not every project can be completed using a standard product. SKS Elektroanlagenbau develops and manufactures custom switchgear solutions for requirements beyond the standard product range, including unusual voltage levels, extreme environmental conditions, industry-specific standards, and complex integration scenarios.

Furnace switchgear systems

Switchgear systems for electric arc furnaces, induction furnaces, and heat-treatment plants in steel and aluminium production. Designed for high-current requirements, frequent switching cycles, and extreme thermal loads.

Approach to custom projects

Custom projects begin with a technical requirements analysis. SKS works with the client to develop the concept, handles the design and manufacturing at its facility in Fohnsdorf, and carries out commissioning. Process overview:
  • Technical requirements analysis Clarification of voltage level, current, environmental conditions, applicable standards, and interface requirements
  • Concept and engineering Development of the switchgear concept, preparation of circuit diagrams, and 3D design for complex geometries
  • Manufacturing Mechanical and electrical manufacturing at SKS’s own facility, using components from Eaton, Schneider Electric, and Siemens
  • Testing and commissioning Comprehensive electrical testing at the in-house test facility and on-site commissioning by SKS technicians
