Our milestones
SKS Elektroanlagenbau GmbH was founded in January 1998 and emerged from the former engineering and manufacturing center of Siemens AG Austria in Fohnsdorf.
Over the first 12 years the company grew from a small team into a truly independent mid sized industrial enterprise located in the AIZ Technology Center in Zeltweg.
On June 1st, 2010, Barbara Isack Heller purchased and took over the company as managing director. Shortly thereafter in October 2010 SKS relocated to the new production site in Fohnsdorf. Across 3000 square meters, this facility offers us not only highly efficient state of the art and highly competitive manufacturing conditions, but also attractive workplaces and a welcoming environment for excellent teamwork.
Since October 2010, our new 3000 m² facility in Fohnsdorf has provided the ideal foundation for modern optimized production along with the best possible working conditions. It goes without saying that we operate in strict accordance with the DIN ISO 9001 quality management system.
New ownership and new perspectives – In 2023 SKS Elektroanlagenbau GmbH became part of the Conversio Group. With this integration the Conversio Group strategically expanded its portfolio in the electrical industry marking a significant step toward becoming the leading provider of modern energy systems in Europe.
Investing in the future we expanded our Fohnsdorf production site in 2025 by an additional 1000 m² of highly modern manufacturing space. The new equipment includes a 40 ton overhead crane, a high performance photovoltaic system, a forward looking hydrogen storage unit, a heat pump with heating and cooling capabilities, and comprehensive measures for the digitalization of our production processes. This gives us a total area of over 4000 m² where we implement future-proof sustainable and efficient solutions for power and electrical engineering.
In 2025 we also successfully obtained certifications for walk in and compact transformer substations in the power range from 200 kVA to 5000 kVA. This enables us to offer our customers an even broader range of services from project planning to the manufacturing of customized medium voltage transformer substations for grid expansion.
